As I got older I started writing longer stories and by the time I was in college I wanted to write for television and film. I had always wanted to write and began writing poetry and short stories while I was still in elementary school. And it can do the same for you, making the decision to become a writer has changed my life tremendously.

Situation comedy and other genres that I found to be of interest, allowing me to write romantic comedy, i was able to let my imagination run wild. The classes I started taking were through the college's extension department or from private writing schools. But even then the rules were very strict as to how many words each story could be and what topics were acceptable, i had taken one creative writing class in high school. My training in school had been so rigid that I had to take classes to get my creativity back.

But I remember telling him that I did not know enough about anything to be able to write about it, an agent suggested that I try writing non-fiction. I shut the door on a writing career, because I was not willing to persevere and look for other opportunities. After being turned down regularly for several years I just stopped writing. I lived in Los Angeles and made some contacts with people who could make sure my word was read. The problem was that I wanted to sell some of this writing and have a career as a writer.

It was not until I found a mentor that I began to write again and now I write every day. But none of this writing was done for me or to help others to learn how to write. And wrote many detailed reports about residential real estate, i also became a real estate broker and appraiser. Narrative or expository, and I taught hundreds of students how to write compositions that were persuasive, during that time I had become a teacher. It was twenty years before I started writing again.
